In the 70s, this shatter resistant, oven proof and microwave ready tableware was one thing: hideous. Who can forget the heinous avocado and burnt orange floral crazy daisies adorning dinner plates and coffee cups?
These can't-break-em-with-a-brick dinner sets were the worst, almost as bad as shopping at discount stores.
But suddenly cheap is chic. Being a frugalista is a badge of honor in these recessionary times.
Since discount stores like Target discovered design and designers, Corelle is doing the same.
I love the new look of Corelle for everyday.

Are discount merchants finding designers or the other way around?
