When words just won't do. There's Foodspotting, the viusal guide to great eats around the globe.
Driven by user uploads as well as featured publishers Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, Zagat's, 7x7 Magazine, and Thrillist, the food recommendation and sharing site started up in 2009.
Created by The Daily Beast's "Women Who Rule the Web" listers Alexa Andrzejewski and Soraya Darabi with Ted Grubb, first Frontend Engineer for Get Satisfaction, Foodspotting invites users to share cravings, spot yummy dishes, and nom (you know the universal tastes good noise) a food. Tips or points accrue for activity.
iPhone app available.
Based in San Francisco, CA, over 90,000 foods have been spotted around the world by over 120,000 website and app users since launching in January 2010.
