Mother's Day

Toast Mom with these fantastic sparkling drinks

Champagne in bed, ah!(photo by Jon Sullivan)

I can't speak for every Mom.  I'm not omniscient, after all, but I can speak with authority about what this Mom likes - and that's breakfast in bed with a nice sparkling drink.

This Mother's Day, you might want to treat your Mom to breakfast in bed.  Or a special brunch prepared for yours truly.

Here's what I'd like to see on my menu:

Crepes with fresh fruit and whipped heavy cream
Loads of hot, robust coffee
A fabulous sparkling drink (alcohol optional)

For traditionalists, we have the Kir Royale (champagne with Crème de cassis) or Mimosas (champagne with orange juice).

Want something a little less ordinary? Try a Champagne and Pear Brandy Cocktail or a Lemongrass Champagn Mojito.

Too early in the day to think about a buzz, mix your favorite juices with selzer over crushed ice.  Try pomegranate, cherry, and pear for a fresh start to a fabulous day!

Life by Chocolate loves Mom & so should you

As a Mom, I know what Moms like (and you can sorta sing that to the tune of Know What Girls Like).

Moms like chocolate.  And lots of it.  But not bad, waxy, low cacao, high sugar content chocolate.

We like good chocolate.

This is the sort of chocolate we want to see stretched out to us in the chubby, baby hands:
Chili and dark chocolates from Life by Chocolate

Mark LaPolla, owner of Life by Chocolate artisan chocolaterie in Greenville, NY, has these dark & spicy lovelies as well as many more for that special Mother in your life (and we're not playing here).

Buy one for Mom, one for me for letting you know what's good, and one for yourself.
